Nepal Tug of War Association (NTWA)

Nepal Tug of War Association is Affiliated to Tug of War International Federation (TWIF). The mission of TWIF is to provide the structure and good governance necessary for the well-being and development of the sport of Tug of War throughout the world. NTWA is registered in National Sports Council of Nepal and has sole responsibility for development of Tug of War game throughout Nepal.

With its provincial committees, district committees, municipality committees, and clubs, it stands as one of the most widely dispersed sports associations in Nepal.

25 Feb 2025 - Jhapa wins Koshi Province Tug of War Competition

Biratnagar, 25 February 2025 – Jhapa District has emerged victorious in the Koshi Province Tug of War Competition held in Biratnagar. The event was a part of the Koshi Province Sports Festival, which commenced on 25 February 2025 under the organization of the Koshi Province Sports Development Board.

A total of 11 districts out of 14 from Koshi Province participated in the competition, showcasing strength, teamwork, and determination. The final match saw Jhapa District face off against Solukhumbu District in a thrilling contest. Jhapa dominated the game, securing a 2-0 victory to claim the championship title.

The Koshi Province Sports Festival aims to promote sportsmanship and encourage athletic talent within the province. Various sporting events are being held as part of the festival, with participation from athletes across different districts.

With this win, Jhapa District has set a benchmark in the province’s tug of war history, demonstrating their exceptional teamwork and strength. The team was lauded for their outstanding performance, and celebrations erupted among supporters and sports enthusiasts following their triumph.
